Throughout my professional security career, I learned that good security isn't simply about equipment. It starts with preparation, awareness and understanding your surroundings.

The objective isn't fear. It's preparation.
Security information should not make people frightened to travel. The purpose is the opposite: preparation, awareness and planning can help you make more informed decisions and respond more effectively.
Travel security begins at home.

I created Secure World Travel because I believe some of the principles I've learned through professional security can be useful to ordinary people when they travel.
You don't need to spend your holiday worrying about everything that could happen. But spending some time before you travel thinking about what you would do if something did happen can make you better prepared.
